Description
42"w. x 18"h. x 18"d. Two wooden-framed rooms are fronted by grey and ochre painted
pilasters with unusual carved tassels. The larger room has an elaborately paneled wooden
wainscoting and chair rail with original dark brown paint accented by gold striping. The design
is repeated on the double paneled door with etched glass windows,and on the three original
matching cornices with their old velvet draperies. Both rooms have original wallpapers,the
paper and borders in the large room especially beautiful,the bedroom floor is wood,and the
living room floor has lithographed paper to simulate parquet. Very good condition,split in
floor with early reinforcement on underside,one worn section of parlor paper between
windows. Germany,circa 1900,attributed to Christian Hacker,a duplicate of this house with
matching papers is shown in Cieslik's Lexikon der Puppenstuben und Puppenhauser,
