Description
8". Wooden armoire with dark walnut finish has elaborately carved crown and finial above a
lithographed paper border designed to simulate inlay wood,decorative side pilasters that extend
the full length of the armoire and center two upper drawers,one wide lower drawer,and a door
that is decorated with a delicate garlanded cherub in a style that suggests reverse painting but is
actually decoupage. The interior has original paper backing on the door and shelves with gold
beading on the edges. Very ornate silver drawer and door pulls complete the luxury details.
Excellent condition. Germany,circa 1890.
