Description
35"w. x 33"h. including tower x 19" total depth (11"d. house only,without porch or base). A
fine wooden two-story doll house has a painted exterior to simulate stonework on the lower
floor and front center facade, and brick work on the second floor. There is a detachable
viewing tower with steeple roof that is painted brown as are the front porch pillars and
window frames and trim. The tower rests upon a foundation of alcoves that are set-out from
the two lower floors. The roof is painted a very dark blue as are the porch rooms and
base, and the center facade has an unusual arched crest with "carved" detail. There is a bay
window at the side. The house opens at the center with two wide swinging panels, and the
attic space is accessed by removal of the tower. The interior offers four rooms with a center
foyer and staircase; the tower set-outs offer additional space as small seating alcoves when
the front is opened. Doors open into each room, and the windows are fitted with curtains
which are old and perhaps original. The walls have original paint, and the floors are particularly
fine with lithographed paper parquet designs, including a unique circular parquet in the living
room which is repeated in a tiny scale on the alcove floor. Excellent condition, the steeple roof
may be replaced, and there may be some overpaint to roof and base, but otherwise original.
