Description
9" (23 cm.) The wooden armoire has very elaborate winged crest with centered finial,ribbed
pilasters and door edges and lithographed paper border below the crest to simulate carving. The
single front-opening door is decorated with original image of two frolicking blue cupids,under
glass and against a black background to simulate reverse painting. The original paper backing is
visible on the inside of the door,and the two interior shelves are edged with gilt beaded borders.
Excellent condition. Germany,circa 1890.
