Description
17"w. x 8"h. x 12"d. A light-wood box is covered in lithographed paper and unfolds to form a
nursery with white paper-covered wall,faux-tile floor,faux-windows at the back. A pair of
double-arm gas lamps are arranged on the back wall and an unusual circular "table" with cut-
out center fills the center of the room. There are four beautifully-crafted soft metal cradles with
canopy tops,painted original cream and gold,and richly fitted with lace and silk. A bisque-head
governess stands attentively at the back,and two small bisque-head girls stand inside the table
circle. An original blue banner "Mignonette Creche,Paris E.G." is on the back wall,and a matched
pair of framed prints decorates the side walls. Near mint original unplayed with condition. For
the French luxury market,circa 1890.
