5 1/2". Cast bronze chairs in the Louis XVI style are finished with gold leaf,and feature lavish foliate and acanthus designs. The seats and backs are upholstered in silk with hand-painted scenes in the Watteau style. Frames excellent,there is restoration to the upholstery. French,circa 1875.
