Description
5"h. The wooden-framed fireplace has lithographed cover to simulate marble,and rests upon
checkerboard lithographed paper base. The fireplace interior is of silvered pressed tin with
gilded edging,and the soft metal grate and fenders are enhanced with gilded trim. Included are
original tongs and shovel. An original paper label on the back indicates the miniature fireplace
was sold by the prestige Paris toy shop of "Au Mus¯e des Enfants" in Paris,circa 1880. Excellent
condition of the rare and signed object.
