Description
20"w. x 10"h. x 10"d,a A light-wood box with paper covers unfolds to form a room setting
with corner windows and elaborately fitted interior. The floor and wallpapers are original,and
there are built-in shaped cornices and bed canopy that are fitted with original rose silk
satin,crepe de chine and lace. Arranged in the room is an opulent bedroom ensemble of
painted white wood with gilded paper and floral decoupage trim,and having original rose silk
bed fittings and chair upholstery. Additional matching furniture pieces are also included
allowing the room to be "extended' at the front. Furnishing includes canopy bed,night
stand,fernery with original flowers,mirrored armoire,cupboard,chest of drawers,two
scalloped-edge pedestal tables,four arm chairs,and four side chairs,and a tiny metal bed with
baby. Excellent condition,virtually unplayed with. France,Victor Bolant,circa 1890,an identical
set is shown in Theimer's Encyclopedia of French Dolls,page 92.
