Description
12"h. x 11"d. The single room wooden framed dollhouse room with painted front columns has
two tall windows with rich embossed-gilt-paper framing and carved wooden cornices. The
room has original velvet-paneled walls with gilt paper edging,and lithographed paper border
and parquet floor. Included are five matching engravings with cardboard-pressed frames that
are attached to the walls. The room has its original furnishings with faux-mahogany dark
finish,magenta silk upholstery and gold paper edging,comprising: canopy day bed,mirrored
armoire,three drawer chest,two oval pedestal tables,settee,two arm chairs,and four side
chairs. Also included is an early metal and pressed tin parlor stove,ormolu dinner bell,bisque
plant stand,large beaded and woven carpet and three bisque dolls in original costume
including bride and cavalier. Good condition with some aging,yet pleasing patina wear to
paper. The house is pencil inscribed 770 on the underside. For the French market,circa 1875.
