35" (89 cm.) Pressed bisque swivel head on kid-edge bisque shoulder plate with modeled
bosom and shoulder blades,large brown glass paperweight inset eyes,thick black
eyeliner,painted lashes,slightly modeled brush-stroked brows with feathered details,accented
eye corners,shaded nostrils,pierced ears,brunette human hair over cork pate,original kid bebe
body with scalloped-edge collarette,Chevrot-jointed chip,wooden lower legs and feet,kid-
over-wooden upper arms,bisque lower arms with separately-sculpted fingers,wearing
antique lace dress,undergarments,fancy bonnet. Condition: generally excellent,right finger
re-glued. Marks: 13 (head) Bru Jne 13 (shoulders). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,circa 1884.
Value Points: the classic bebe is virtually-unknown in this grand size,likely presented
originally as an exhibition model,as also indicated by its superior quality of bisque and
sculpting including tiny tongue tip,dimpled chin and modeling of brows.
