Fine 19th Century Burled Walnut and Mahogany Roll-top Desk

19" (48 cm.) Of fine cabinet-maker's quality,the desk felicitously combines amber-golden and dark woods,with painted ebony trim; the roll-top itself alternates the woods. There is a fine carved crest,two drawers above the roll-top,well-fitted interior niches and drawers with bone- carved knobs,and two curved front drawers below the writing surface which can be pulled out when the roll-top is opened. Each of the drawers has dove-tailed construction. Excellent condition. 19th century,probably English.
