One-piece wooden head and torso with heart-shaped face,rounded dome,sculpted ears,elongated throat,carved definition of bosom and high waist,the doll has black painted hair that is painted into shaded stippled curls onto the forehead,whitened gesso complexion with cheek blush,painted brown eyes with outlined lashes,brows,closed mouth,tiny pointed chin,wooden limbs with dowel-jointing at shoulders,elbows,hips and knees,painted lower arms and legs,painted brown slippers. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: Germany,circa 1820. Value Points: well-preserved early fashionable lady with body designed for wearing of 1820-era costumes,superb hair painting.
