Description
17" (43 cm.) Upon an ebonized-wooden base,under a glass domed globe,is an elaborate
arrangement of a pale red silk tufted pillow overlaid with a luxurious wax orange-blossom
coronet,necklace and corsage,and having a crest of ormolu dove and oak leaves. French,circa
1875,the globe de mariage was a symbol of a new marriage and held symbolic objects of the
wedding,in this case,the bride's ornaments. Excellent condition.
