16" (41 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head,deep blue glass paperweight inset eyes,thick black
eyeliner,painted curly lashes,brush-stroked brows,accented eye corners,shaded
nostrils,closed mouth with outlined full lips,impressed chin and philtrum dimples,pierced
ears,blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French composition and wooden fully-jointed body
with straight wrists. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: A 8 T. Comments: Andre
Thuillier,circa 1886. Value Points: the very rare bebe has an ethereal beauty achieved by
delicately blushed bisque and shy expectant expression,wearing fine antique lace gown,silk
and lace bonnet,undergarments,stockings,shoes,and is in pristine virtually-unplayed-with
condition. The bebe is from the family collection of Mildred Seeley and appeared in many of
her books,also appearing on the cover of Theriault's 2009 calendar of doll art.
