26" (66 cm.) Bisque socket head with elongated facial shape of adult lady,brown glass sleep
eyes with heavily-modeled eyelids,mohair lashes,painted lower lashes,brush-stroked
brows,aquiline nose with accent dots,closed mouth with primly-set lips,pierced ears,blonde
mohair wig over cork pate,French composition lady body with exaggerated bosom and tiny
waist,slender limbs. Condition: generally excellent,there are two old 1 1/2" hairlines at the
back crown rim that appear original. Marks: 1307 11. Comments: Edmund Daspres,successor
to the Jules Steiner firm,deposed the unique body "La Patricienne" in 1905,presenting it with
various heads,mostly by Simon and Halbig; the body was designed to accommodate to the
"new" fashionable styles of the early 20th century. Value Points: very rare model with
distinctive features of head and body,wearing her original Edwardian costume with beautiful
undergarments,green velvet gown with fur trim and silk satin lining.
