26" (66 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with oval-shaped face and very plump cheeks and
chin,wide almond-shaped brown enamel glass inset eyes,dark eyeliner,short painted curly
lashes,brush-stroked and multi-feathered brows,accent dots at eye corners,shaded
nostrils,closed mouth with modeled white space between the shaded and outlined lips,pierced
ears (not separately modeled),blonde mohair wig over cork pate,French composition and
wooden eight-loose-ball-jointed body with straight wrists,plump limbs with definition of
baby fat wrinkles at wrists and legs,very large hands with defined knuckles and nails,early
rose silk frock,undergarments,wire-framed curly-straw bonnet,leather shoes,knit stockings.
Condition: generally excellent. Marks: 5. (head) Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris (body). Comments:
Emile Jumeau,circa 1878. Value Points: the first-period bebe by Jumeau with luxury quality of
modeling and decoration is of an extraordinary size for this model,enhanced yet further with
fabulous very pale bisque touched with delicate blush at dimpled chin,mauve-blushed eye
shadow,original body and body finish.
