Description
16" (41 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-edged bisque shoulder plate with generously modeled
bosom and throat cleft,blue glass inset eyes,painted lashes,widely feathered brows,accented
nostrils and eye corners,closed mouth with outlined lips,pierced ears,brunette mohair
wig,cork pate,uniquely-designed poupee body with bisque lower arms,the left arm modeled
bent at the elbow,and bisque legs from knees downward,bisque bare feet with sculpted holes
in the base for posing on original wooden stand,included are original undergarments and
bonnet. Condition: generally excellent. tiny flake at lower right eye rim appears original.
Comments: Radiguet & Cordonnier,based upon the model deposed by the couple in
1880,described as a "Poupee statuette",influenced by their theatrical involvement and
designed to create a model figure for presentation of theatre costumes; the model was made
for a short time only. Value Points: uniquely-sculpted voluptuous body,wonderfully preserved
and includes the original wooden stand with metal pegs for positioning with the holes in the
doll's feet; the doll also has beautiful bisque and expression.
