Description
28" (71 cm.) Standing upon a velvet-covered wooden flat platform is a bisque-headed lady
with flat-cut neck socket,brown-glass eyes,dark eyeliner,painted lashes and widely-arched
brows,aquiline nose,closed mouth with shaded lips,separately-modeled pierced ears,brunette
human hair over cork pate,carton torso and legs,paper mache forearms,lovely antique gown.
She is posed behind a large wooden harp with gilded decoration,and when wound,she moves
her head in a realistic manner of a harpist,while strumming her fingers across the harp
strings,music plays. Condition: generally excellent,some repaint to paper mache
hands,mechanism and music function well. Marks: 10 Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 10
(head). Comments: attributed to Vichy with bisque head by Jumeau,circa 1885. Value Points:
luxury grand-sized automaton with rare portrait face Jumeau,beautiful graceful movements.
