Description
23" (58 cm.) Undecorated porcelain shoulder head of adult lady with oval-shaped face and
elongated throat,sculpted hair with hair waved in soft curls over the ears and loosely back
into a coiled chignon of four rows of braids,definition of facial features includes eye sockets
and lips,old cloth body with porcelain lower arms,wearing a very fine antique silk gown
trimmed with velvet and silk flowers,antique undergarments,leather shoes. Condition:
generally excellent,two original beauty molds on right cheek. Marks: (crossed blue swords
inside back shoulder plate) 3663 (etched inside front shoulder plate). Comments: KPM
Meissen,circa 1850,a series of their models of lady dolls were made in this undecorated
style,perhaps designed to simulate marble statuary,and are quite rare. Value Points: grand
and imposing model with superb detail of rare coiffure,fabulous costume.
