Description
10" (25 cm.) x 12" framed. Presented within a walnut frame with wooden backing, is a full-length portrait of regally-clothed woman, posed against a balcony scene with hand-painted curtain and various shrubs and trees in the background; the woman has painted facial features and hands, and her headdress, gown and robe are stitched and applique silk fabrics which lend dimensional depth. Very good condition, some darkening of background. Continental, early 1800s.
