All carved wood with one-piece torso and egg-shaped head, elongated curved throat, shapely bosom, flat back, black enamel inset eyes, "dot" painted all-around lashes and wide brows, tiny pointy nose with accent dots, thin line lips with center detail, cheek blush spots, blonde delicate mohair wig on original linen cap, cloth upper arms, carved wooden lower arms with fork-shaped fingers, wooden legs with jointing at hips and knees. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: English, circa 1770. Value Points: the outstanding original condition of the doll is remarkable, with superb original painting enhancing her strong sculptural presence, preserved in early wooden box with extensive original trousseau, featuring six various couturier-handsewn gowns of finest brocades and silks, enhanced by decorative details of silk thread flowers and metallic edging, four "pockets", two hats, tiny silk shoes, quilted petticoat and more; the gown she is wearing has original petticoat stiff-lined with old English newspaper dated 1771. The doll remained in its original family from 1770 until it passed into the hands of one collector several decades ago where it has remained stored away until this time.
