13"(33 cm.) Composition socket head depicting a highly-characterized older man with gray sculpted hair in jutting pageboy style,thick grey brows,black side-glancing eyes,protruding nose,whiskers,closed mouth,double chin; on composition upper torso with sculpted kingÍs robes,and having wooden lower torso,arms,legs and feet in segemented-wood allowing articulation. The costume is painted brilliant colors of red,yellow,gold,and grey and there is a wooden colorful "crown"on his head. Excellent condition. Marks: Ideal Doll c.P.P.P.I,(torso) King Little c. Paramount Pictures Inc 1939 Ideal Novelty & Toy (label on chest). The film,starring Deanna Durbin,was released by Paramount in 1939; Ideal released this imaginative figure of King Little as well as a Deanna Durbin doll dressed in a costume that she wore for the film. King Little is a rare model to find and imaginatively created.
