8" (20 cm.) Composition socket head with highly-characterized modeling and simple-line
drawing of features,wooden hat with celluloid visor,original pipe in drilled hole at side of
mouth,all-wooden body with painted costume and wood-segmented limbs. Marks: King Features
Syn. Inc. 1932 (stamp) J. Chein Made in USA Harrison N.J. (paper label). Excellent original
condition throughout,and still carrying his original muslin sack stamped "Popeye Sea Bag". Circa
1932.
