20" (51 cm.) All cloth doll with suede-like mask pressed face with hand-painted complexion and blue side-glancing eyes with large black pupils and white eye dots,painted upper lashes,single stroke brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth with bow-shaped lips,pale blonde yarn wig with stitched-down hair and blue hair bow,five piece cotton sateen body. The doll is wearing her original blue cotton print dress with three rows of trim and attached bloomer panties,white organdy apron with collar and pocket,socks,and shoes. The dress is tagged ñOriginal Alice in Wonderland Trademark U.S. Pat. Off.,Madame Alexander N.Y.î Circa 1933,the doll was undoubtedly presented to coincide with the release of the 1933 film Alice in Wonderland; this example bears a rare label citing the trademark attribution,although not the number of the trademark; that fact and the wonderful hand detail of painting and costume indicate its early production,Excellent condition,superb painting,original wig,coiffure,crisp original costume,rare tag.
