20"(51 cm.) Vinyl socket head,blue sleep eyes,lashes,painted lashes and brows,closed
mouth,ash-blonde long curly hair with bangs,adult-female modeled body. She is wearing an
extravagant gown with ivory satin bodice,and organza skirt in shaded coloring from pink to
vibrant cherry that is captured to form horizontal gathers,over taffeta under
skirt,petticoat,panties,stockings,shoes. She wears a matching pink organza wrap at the
neckline,has flowers in her originally-arranged hair and carries a package of additional shoes
labeled "Sweet Sue Sophisicate". Excellent condition,beautiful face and coiffure,superb costume.
American Character,circa 1958,the doll was confusingly marketed as both "Toni"and "Sweet Sue
Sophisicate",evidently to capture the buyer's imagination and buying desires in both areas.
