(head). "Pinocchio"Walt Disney (stamp on foot). The storybook figure as conceived by Walt
Disney for his landmark animated film of 1940. Midway through production of the film,Disney
stopped work and completely re-designed Pinocchio, eliminating many of his puppet-like
features as originally written by Carlos Collodi, and making him more into a real little boy. In
publicizing the film Disney licensed his version of Pinocchio to be created into dolls, such as
this licensed model by Ideal,c. 1940.
