13"(33 cm.) Composition socket ball-shaped head with tiny stuck-out ears,black circle-shaped
eyes with painted upper,lower and side lashes,enormous red nose,ear-to-ear beaming
smile,pear-shaped torso,jointed arms and legs,Popeye-shaped muscular arms,nine-wood-
segmented yellow tail,original vibrant yellow paint with blue spots on back and red nails and
blush. Marks: "Jeep"1932 King Features Syn. From the original Thimble Theatre series of Popeye
characters,Jeep was Popeye's comical dog. Designed and created by Joseph Kallus of Cameo,circa
1932. Very good condition,tiny paint flake on foot,slight craquelure on outside of arms. Original
finish throughout. A rare and wonderfully-imaginative character doll.
