18"(46 cm.) All-composition doll with socket head,brown sleep eyes,lashes,painted lashes and
brows,slightly-parted lips,row of upper teeth,brunette human hair wig with bangs,five-piece
composition body. The doll is wearing her original red and white checkered pinafore dress over
white cotton one-piece romper suit,brown sandals. Excellent condition with very light surface
lines on face. Marks: Effanbee Anne Shirley. Effanbee,from the "American Children"series
designed by Dewees Cochran and introduced in 1937 at Saks Fifth Avenue in New York,the doll
is wearing her original gold heart label bracelet.
