Description
6" (15 cm.) The standing tin figure of the googly-eyed character,Happy Hooligan,is wearing his classic red hat and bow-tie,and green checkered coat. When wound he shuffles along merrily. Marks: J. Chein & Co,Made in USA. Also included is a board game,"Happy Hooligan Game" by Milton Bradley, with 1925 copyright date by International Feature Service. The game (incomplete) features colorful stand-up figures of Montmorency,Gloomy Gus,Mr. Dough,The Cop,and children Hoiman,Foidinand, and Boitram, all of which were featured in the comic strip first introduced by Frederick Burr Opper in 1900 and later syndicated by King Features. The strip detailed the exploits of Hooligan, who, although poor, always managed a smile,as contrasted with his equally poor but snobbish brother Montmorency and gloomy brother Gus.
