8" (20 cm.) Lithographed tin open-top auto with red and white steering wheel is being driven by
Charlie McCarthy with his classic black suit,top hat and monocle. When wound,the car bumps
and jerks along,while his head revolves side to side. Excellent condition of lithography and
mechanism. Marks: Charlie McCarthy,Marx,Pats. Pend Made in USA. The doll was marketed with
the catch-phrase "Charlie McCarthy in his Benzine Buggy". Marx,circa 1938.
