Description
16" (41 cm.) Hard plastic head with sculpted bright red hair,painted facial features,blue side-
glancing eyes,red freckles,hinged jaw,loosely-articulated wooden body that operates as a puppet
by pull-strings. The puppet is wearing removable original costume comprising cotton
shirt,bandana,blue jeans,leather belt,cowboy boots labeled HD. He is contained in his (worn)
original box,designed by Raye Copelan,manufactured by Peter Puppet Playthings. Circa 1950s.
Also included is various ephemera concerning Howdy Doody: ceramic cup and plate with colorful
illustrations,Howdy Doody push puppet with wooden articulated limbs,large colorful
bandana,Princess Summerfall Winterspring push puppet,plastic Howdy toy in original box and
