Description
16" (41 cm.) Al-cloth doll with bedpost shaped head, flat-dimensional face except attached nose, oil-painted complexion, hair and facial features, brown hair, brown outlined eyes, brown brushstroked brows, closed mouth with center accent line, stitch-jointed arms and legs, painted shoes. Condition: generally excellent, some typical rubs to painted hair. Comments: maker unknown, American, late 1800s. Value Points: the highly characterized doll has original finish, and is wearing original gown and transfer-stamped apron. An old paper label "Lucille Winterbottom" is attached to hem of dress.
