12"(30 cm.) Each has composition socket head depicting a chubby-faced toddler,painted blue
side-glancing eyes,three upper curly lashes on each eye,rounded nose,tiny "O"shaped
mouth,sculpted and painted blonde hair (girl with additional yarn locks at sides),five piece
chubby toddler body. Each is wearing its original felt and flannel skating costume with applique
detail on girl's cap and braided colorful yarn on boy's hat,and ice skates. Marks: Harriet c.
Flanders. Excellent condition of dolls and costumes with typical fading of composition and
clothing. The dolls were designed by Harriet Flanders who also wrote a book "Little
Cherubs"featuring her dolls,and they were marketed by Georgene Averill,circa 1937. Rare dolls
especially unusual to find as a matched pair.
