Description
5.5" (14 cm.) Katrinka, with her classic topknot hair style, and generously-sized body garbed in
blue-checkered blouse, red skirt and white apron,is shown pushing a wheelbarrow in which a
smiling happy child,Jimmy,is standing, holding onto the side rails. When wound, she moves along
on her hidden-wheeled base,and periodically,in a burst of strength,lifts the entire wheelbarrow
and Jimmy up high in the air, then continues running along. The toy is based upon the Powerful
Katrinka character in the Toonerville Trolley series, introduced by Fontaine Fox in 1908. Excellent
condition of lithography and mechanics. Marks: The Powerful Katrinka, copyright 1923 Fontaine
Fox Pat. Applied for Germany (lettered on side) DRP 257447 (impressed on bottom).
