21" (53 cm.) All-cloth doll with socket head, firmly-pressed and oil-painted facial features, shaded blue eyes with pronounced white eye dots and decorative glaze, black and brown upper eyeliner, single-stroke brows, accented nostrils, closed mouth with pouting expression, blonde human hair hand-stitched braided wig, stitch-jointing at shoulders, disc-jointed legs, defined knees and elbows. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Kathe Kruse (and illegible numbers on left foot). Comments: Kathe Kruse, Type VIII, the model known as "Deutsches Kind", was made 1927-1948; one Type VIII model with coronet and braids appeared in the 1936 catalog as "Ruth". Value Points: especially well-preserved original painting and wig, with original flower-print blue cotton chemise and panties, unusual garter belt and garters, stockings, tan leather shoes, floral coronet, and with blue knit long sweater dress (with some old repairs to moth holes) and pants.
