mache head,blue glass eyes. Condition: generally excellent,few minor cheek rubs. Comments:
Circa 1900,the doll is wearing her original exhibition folklore costume from the village of
Pontamur in the region of L̴Auvergne in France,comprising multi-layers and accessories
including hidden coin pockets,lace coiffe and bonnet,sabot; the doll was presented in the book
French Folklore Dolls and the elements of her costume are shown separately there. Value Points:
rare complete original folklore costume,fully-articulated wooden body,original paper document
of region.
