Description
22" (56 cm.) upright chair. 14" table h. Of golden oak with strongly grained wood, and having
richly carved spindles and supports, the furniture forms, first, into an arm chair with upholstered
seat and back, the back supported by unusual hinged arrangement which, secondly, allows the
back to be folded down and form into a table which rests on the chair arms. The intricate and
ingenious construction suggests its original purpose as a salesman̴s sample model, yet it is
perfectly sized for display with dolls. Excellent condition. American, circa 1890.
