painting,wig,and costume. In this example,the Steiner mechanism is not marked Steiner,and the
poupee is not marked with the name of the boutique. Condition: generally excellent,functions
well. Comments: Jules Steiner,circa 1870. Value Points: an especially beautiful face on the rare
early doll,whose maker sought to combine the virtues of classic fashionable dolls with
mechanical movements.
