28" (71 cm.) Pressed bisque socket head with very plump cheeks,amber brown glass
paperweight inset eyes,thick dark eyeliner,painted lashes,mauve blushed eye shadow,brush-
stroked and multi-feathered brows,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,closed
mouth,defined space between the pale accented lips,impressed dimples at philtrum,chin and
lip corners,separately applied pierced ears,blonde mohair wig,cork pate,French composition
and wooden fully-jointed body with plump limbs,straight wrists. Condition: generally
excellent,some light retouch on body. Marks: 13 (head) Jumeau Medaille d̴Or Paris (body).
Comments: Emile Jumeau,his signature model known as Bebe Triste in reference to its sad-
faced portrayal,circa 1884. Value Points: exceptionally beautiful example with very delicate
pale complexion,wearing superb silk costume with lace and soutache trim,signed Jumeau
shoes.
