Description
9" (23 cm.) doll. 10" x 6" box. Solid domed paper mache shoulderhead with painted black pate, painted blue eyes, tiny closed mouth, original blonde human hair wig, firmly-stuffed body, paper mache lower arms. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: for the French market, circa 1840. Value Points: wonderful state of preservation, the all-original doll is wearing stitched-on fitted muslin dress with netting apron front and dainty ribbons, leggings, and is thread-attached in original glass-front presentation box with removable lid.
