27" (68 cm.) Bisque socket head with plump cheeks,amber brown glass paperweight inset eyes,dark eyeliner,lushly painted lashes,wide brush-stroked and multi-feathered brows,accented eye corners,shaded nostrils,closed mouth with defined space between the outlined lips,pierced ears,brunette human hair over cork pate,French composition and wooden fully-jointed body. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: Depose Tete Jumeau Bte SGDG 13 (head) Jumeau Medaille d̴Or Paris (body). Comments: Emile Jumeau,circa 1885,the model more closely resembles the earlier incised depose bebe by Jumeau,indicating it as a first issue bebe,a rare transitional variation. Value Points: fine large size bebe with beautiful bisque and painting,original body and body finish,lovely antique costume including signed Jumeau shoes.
