Description
16" (41 cm.) x 12". The oil painting on board depicts an older child in maroon dress with lace
collar and sleeves and flowing brunette hair captured by a maroon bow,seating on a carved
chair,her left arm resting on a table,and her right arm nestling her beloved black-complexioned
doll in red dress with red hair bow. The painting is signed L. Mouillard in upper right corner,and
a date which is mostly illegible but may be ̢87 (viz. 1887). Lucien Mouillard,listed in
Benezit,exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1870 to 1904. The painting appears in an antique gold-
leaf finished wooden frame. Excellent condition. French,late 19th century.
