18" (46 cm.) Bisque shoulder head with oval-shaped face and elongated throat,brown sculpted hair in delicate waves that are captured at the back in a black sculpted snood with gilt-edged tassels and bows,and fall into two long ringlet curls at either side of face,painted blue upper glancing eyes,red and black upper eyeliner,aquiline nose,single-stroke brows,closed mouth with center accent line,old muslin stitch-jointed body,porcelain lower limbs,painted shoes,antique gown and undergarments. Condition: generally excellent. Comments: attributed to Conta & Bohne,circa 1870. Value Points: regal yet gentle expression on fine bisque with luminous finish,superb sculpting of hair.
