17" (43 cm.) All-cloth doll with pressed and oil-painted facial features and hair,defined forelock
and wisps,sculpted blushed ears,grey/brown shaded eyes,brown and black upper
eyeliner,accented nostrils,closed mouth with wistful expression,muslin body with stitch-jointed
shoulders,separately-stitched thumbs,disc-jointed hips,wearing wonderful Tyrolean-style
costume with embroidered suspenders,knit patterned stockings,leather shoes,shrit,brown cap.
Condition: generally excellent,few small paint rubs. Marks: 1198 (left foot). Comments: Kathe
Kruse,circa 1915. Value Points: most appealing expression is enhanced by oil-painted
complexion and well-defined sculptural modeling,fine costume may be original.
