18" (46 cm.) Bisque socket head,brown glass sleep eyes,mohair lashes,painted lower lashes,brush-stroked and feathered brows,accented nostrils,open mouth,outlined lips,four porcelain teeth,brunette mohair wig,plaster pate,composition and wooden ball-jointed body,original store chemise. Condition: generally excellent. Marks: G 1/2 made in Germany 171 10 (head) Germany (body). Comments: Kestner,circa 1911,this 18" 171 model was offered as a premium by Ladies Home Journal in 1911 for selling subscriptions to their magazine. To promote the program,the actual doll was also drawn in paper doll form,as part of the Lettie Lane Series. Value Points: desirable and sought-after doll,this example in virtually unplayed with condition.
