17" (43 cm.) Bisque shoulder head of adult lady with oval face and elongated throat,brown
sculpted hair arranged in soft waves at her forehead,and then drawn back into a loosely captured
braided chignon that is decorated with a gilt-trimmed black comb,fully-sculpted pierced
ears,painted blue eyes,red and black eyeliner,single-stroke brows,closed mouth with center
accent line,modeled and painted bodice including stand-up collar with ruffled liner and gilt
bow,painted embroidered details of lattice-design and medallions in shades of coral,pink and
blue; on muslin stitch-jointed body with leather arms,nicely costumed. Condition: restoration on
the collar and bow,and possibly on comb. Marks: 5 A-5. Comments: C.F. Kling,circa 1870. Value
Points: very rare model with extraordinary ornamentation,maker̴s model signature.
