Description
10" (25 cm.) A carved wooden head is loosely attached to a wooden torso and arms that are
jointed at the shoulders and elbows, and then posed upon wooden and cast-iron mechanism
designed to be attached to an early Edison phonograph with horn. When the phonograph was
activated the doll would "dance" about in shadow puppet movements. The head is elaborately
painted and carved, and carved jewelry appears on the torso and arms. Excellent original
condition. Late 19th century. Very rare.
