17" (43 cm.) Paper-mache shoulder head with black sculpted hair arranged with coiled braid in
front of each ear,the remainder of hair pulled back into coiled chignon,painted azure-blue
eyes,feathered brows,accented nostrils,closed mouth,blushed cheeks,slender kid body with
wooden lower limbs,nicely costumed. Condition: very good,some body,very minor craquelure on
paper-mache. Comments: Germany,circa 1850. Value Points: wonderfully sculpted lady
distinctive face,slightest double chin,strong throat,fine original finish,well preserved.
