25" (64 cm.) Bisque swivel head on kid-lined bisque shoulder plate,oval-shaped face with
aquiline-shaped nose,small pale blue glass inset enamel eyes,dark eyeliner,feathered
brows,accented eye corners and nostrils,closed mouth with slightly-smiling expression on the
shaded and accented lips,pierced ears,blonde mohair wig,cork pate,French kid poupee body
with square cut collarette in the classic Bru manner,stitched and separated fingers,wearing
antique walking suit with silk cape,blouse,skirt,velvet and lace
cap,undergarments,stockings,shoes. Condition: generally excellent,some repairs to kid body.
Marks: Depose L (head and shoulder plate). Comments: Leon Casimir Bru,circa 1872,the
deposed model of his smiling face poupee may have been inspired by the beloved Empress
Eugenie. Value Points: rare largest size of this model has exceptional quality of bisque and
painting,superb expression.
