1.5" (4 cm.) dolls. 5" diam. drum. Five carved wooden dolls with brightly painted traditional costumes have loosely jointed legs and are balanced on four narrow wires. When placed upon the drum,and its handle turned to create a vibration,the dolls dance up and down (or fall over!). Condition: generally excellent. Comments: late 19th-century,the wooden dancing dolls were made in Germany,and presented as play sets such as this in France. Value Points: beautifully preserved miniature dolls.
